Ask Annie is available on the RSPCA website 24/7 to provide information on all main species of domestic and wild animals including information relating to general pet care, animal welfare law, animal rehoming and vet care. This V-Person™ can also help users find local vets, council, police and fire and rescue services in their area.
In addition to being available to website visitors, Ask Annie is also being used in the RSPCA’s control centre. This version of the system presents controllers with both answers designed specifically for them as well as the answers given to website users which means callers can be provided with the most appropriate and complete answer to their query. Additional comments by developer Creative Virtual: Current trends show that by January 2013 Ask Annie will be handling in the region of 175,000 conversations per year, 250% above the expected volumes needed to prove a virtual assistant is a valuable addition to the RSPCA’s customer service experience. On average 30% of people using the service say it saves them from calling, and it’s expected that low-priority advice calls handled by the charity’s 24/7 national control centre will reduce by over 50,000 in 2012. This will allow controllers to focus on emergency calls about animals in most need of the RSPCA’s help. |
We have an escaped parrot sitting in a tree in our garden in Evington goodwood Road/Uppingham Road Withcote Ave area. Help! what do we do |
Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity. John, I would advise you contact the RSPCA rather than a website devoted to chatbots. |
Leave it alone and let nature take its course. If it is away from its mother, it is pretty much dead already. I'm sure an owl will get it for food. Circle of life! |
Have young neighbours with two young staffs. In conservatory all day long - never walked. Very concernr d - what do I do? |
Contact the local council or RSPCA if you are concerned about their welfare. |
Rang this morning about an injured stray cat that I have been feeding. Its frightened and therefore not friendly. Was advised to lure it into the shed. Am unable do so because one front leg is twice the size of the others and it cannot put it down. Had to get right under the bush to give it more food because it fell and rolled over onto its back when I left the food in the usual place. It also looks really large around the middle and I am worried it may be pregnant although I dont even know if its female. I am unable to get it and take it anywhere. Don't know whose cat it is. Other cats are also coming into my garden and I dont think the stray will be able to protect itself. Please help and advise asap. Thanks, Jill |

Jeez guys! Phone the RSPCA. Don't post on a message board about chatbots. Sandra - Posting your phone number on the internet is pretty dumb. |
@Steve: I wouldn't mind leaving my phone number (it's actually in my profile and on my website http://www.erwinvanlun.com, but I would care about my home address or my credit card details... Anyway, I've censored the phone number just in case she doesn't want that.... |
