Asistentes Virtuales de Clase
Virtual Agents are a set of computer programs capable of interacting with human beings in
their own language (Spanish in our case). In particular, a Virtual Classroom Assistant is a
Virtual Agent specialized in some field of knowledge featuring specific routines to provide
tutoring, examinations, etc.
Virtual Classroom Assistants (“AVC” in Spanish) can be accessed obliquely through a web
browser, constituting a new and attractive pedagogical resource. This work, mostly based
on the pilot tests carried out during 2009-2011, in the course "Management of Information
Systems" at the University of Buenos Aires - FCE, is aimed to provide insides of the interactions of students – AVC, and the impacts on the teaching-learning process, when the AVC is used in upper education as a complement of traditional lecture.
