Chatbots.org is the world’s fastest growing community on human-like conversational AI (Artificial Intelligence).
Mission
“To be the leading community of chatbot developers, academics and users focusing on research, technology and innovation to drive success for all participants.”
Definition Chatbot
A chatbot is an artificial living entity designed to have conversations with real human beings. This could encompass a text conversation via computers, a spoken conversation or even a non-verbal conversation.
Future of Chatbots
Chatbots have a huge potential. They are the embodiment of the evolving ability of brands (or governments, or NGO’s) to listen to individuals instead of simply sending messages. They show us the future of what’s next after advertising. In the long run (10-20 years), this industry has the potential to be as big as the advertising industry today.
This industry is still in its early days. There are no associations, no shared research, no consensus on terminology. For clients, there is no overview of developers, no list of quality cases, no best practice implementations.
That’s why Chatbots.org was developed in 2005 and launched on this URL in January 2008. If you’re interested in our history, a detailed history page is available.
Future of Chatbots.org
Chatbots.org is more and more developing into an association: It is really intended to advance the chatbot industry worldwide. It gives people the opportunity to network. For knowledge to grow. For issues to be solved.
Chatbots.org’s primary business model should be about paid membership by professional chatbot developers. It’s beneficial for them to have a body in place which autonomously advances this industry.
Legal person for Chatbots.org is AI4US Ltd, registered in the UK and in the Netherlands.
Members
Although Chatbots.org is a community and thus the word ‘we’ would imply its 8000 members, we also have a core team working a significant number of hours each week. Our core team is listed in the left hand side bar in this community section.
Furthermore, Chatbots.org has a couple of featured members. These professionals have been around in our industry for quite some time now and they have always been willing to share their knowledge, put in their energy, or even invest their money. Therefore, we’ve approached them to create a profile on Chatbots.org, and we have added a featured profiles page in the Community area to showcase them. This is not an award, nor a ranking or a competition; we’d just like to give these professionals the credits they deserve.
