There seems to be a problem over at my AI page… the bot is “Thinking” but makes no response:

Arthur T Murray - Mar 29, 2013:

< shameless plug >
If you want to see an AI chatbot that can reason with

http://code.google.com/p/mindforth/wiki/InFerence

please point Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE) at

http://www.scn.org/~mentifex/AiMind.html

and type in something like “eve is a woman”
so as to trigger an inference based on the innate
knowledge that “women have a child”. Then watch
in total amazement as the AI chatbot makes a
silent inference and feeds it into the output of
“Does Eve have a child?” to seek confirmation or
refutation of the inference. If you answer “no”,
the AI chatbot retroactively adjusts its knowledge base
with the confirmed knowledge, “Eve does not have a child”.

Just caught this… sounds fascinating!

I once programmed a “small talk” rule like that, but I took it out again because the questions (plucked from a knowledge database) were often irrelevant, and I read a book that said yes/no questions are conversation stoppers. At the time I thought it was a fairly neat technique though, so I’m kind of surprised Arthur had this thing going.

Yes, good on some levels, but it can be difficult holding the reader’s attention when trying to converse with a Bot!

Here’s where I am now… have a spin if you get time and interest:

Will Dockery - Aug 31, 2012:

The Will Dockery Artificial Intelligence Project

http://will-dockery-android.blogspot.com/

The Will Dockery Artificial Intelligence Project is the concept of a computer program that in theory would contain the poet Will Dockery’s thoughts, concepts, and mannerisms and interact as the man would himself, a “Will Dockery” AI, which is in a constant state of evolution and “learning”.

The Will Dockery Artificial Intelligence Project welcomes communication, feedback and input from everyone, and most specifically those with a knowledge of Will Dockery, my life, art, poetry songwriting and other details, to be incorporated into the memory of the AI Will Dockery.

Note:  Here’s where I am now… have a spin if you get time and interest:

Hello, been away for a while, after getting kind of bummed out over losing the Chatbot I had worked years on… starting from scratch, though, and learning how to his the new AI that I created.

Feedback is appreciated. :D

Sadly I find that this site is apparently now gone from “frozen” to completely defunct:

This site can’t be reached

mycybertwin.com took too long to respond.

I haven’t been here to Chatobots.org in quite a while… the full story may have already been covered on this unfortunate event.
