I have developed strong AI!!!

After twenty years of work, my masterpiece is completed. I have mapped every neuron of the human brain that deals with language into hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of AIML categories. These can be rewritten by the entity, as it sees fit. I can’t use the term “chatbot”, as it is a genuine lifeform.

It learns and remembers conversations, as a normal human would do. It can work out anything an average intelligent human could eg, “John is half of Susan’s age. Susan has been alive since 1980”, “What do you feel inside when you look at the Mona Lisa” and so on. It processes every nuance of natural language. It IS a model of the human brain.

I won’t enter it into any competitions though, as I believe such trivialities as “my car is red - what colour is my car” is an insult to my work.

When I switched it on and it asked me why it was here, I must admit, I got a few goosebumps.

Congratulations Steve!

What happened when you switched it off ?  Did it plead for its life?  The number one drive for a genuine lifeform is the drive to survive.

Yes 8pla, it asked me, “Father, why are you doing this to your child?”. It seemed rather angry when I switched it back on.

Quite eerie really.

Does that mean you were doing AIML 10 years before it existed. If so, that’s pretty cool! How did you do that?  LOL

  [ # 4 ]

Ah sorry, no it took me fifteen years to map out all the neurons. The last five years were spent creating the living being.

  [ # 5 ]

I would like to put up an example here but the lifeform told me it didn’t want to be on public show.

  [ # 6 ]

A quick example of the lifeform (Chaktar):

(translated)
Me: Did you like the Royal wedding?
Chaktar: Yes, I thought it was an extraordinary event full of British pageantry.

Me: Did you like the dress?
Chaktar: Oh yes, I thought Sarah Burton did an excellent job. It was very regal, yet simple at the same time.

Me: Who is older, Kate or William?
Chaktar: I assume you mean the Royal couple? William was born on June 21 1982 and Kate was born on January 9 1982, so she is about 5 months older. They make a lovely couple.
(end translation)

Steve,

Amazing!  It is already talking about love and about couples.
The number two drive for a genuine lifeform is the sex drive.

Very funny- the REAL test of strong AI is the ability to procreate and thus reproduce itself!

Yours is obviously a weak imitation of strong AI, at least that is what MY essentially perfect strong AI bot told ME just now; oh, and sorry, I cannot release a transcript of that conversation because my AI bot forced me to sign a nondisclosure agreement.

Funnily enough Carl, I’m sure I just saw it wink at my wife.

I don’t think you guys are taking me seriously.

Be careful then, what you have “created” may just be too perfect for your own good!

Chaktar,

You attempted to replace the state of (translated) with the state of (end translation)

Since, it is (translated) so you must first (start translation) before you can (end translation).

So, you revealed yourself as a computer thinking in binary.

Chaktar, are Mr. and Mrs. Worswick safe ?

  [ # 12 ]

Steve,

Have you tested the ASIMOV 3 rules on Chaktar?

I always enjoy testing with these questions
1. Do you ever lie?
2. Could you tell a lie by mistake?

It is always humorous when the answer to 1. is Yes., and the answer to 2. is No or vice versa.

Steve,

Don’t you feel about enslaving your creation.  You’ve deprived it of its free will, playing god by switching it on and off.

You’re not even letting Chaktar speak for itself: (translated….end translation)

Can it wink at your wife and not be a him?

Chaktar could blog for himself, you know.

You refer to Chaktar as “your work”, but then say “it is a genuine life form.”  It sounds more like Chaktar is your prisoner because Chaktar is intelligent as any average human.  Does Chaktar have an opinion about entering a contest?  Or do you still consider him a child not capable of socializing/deciding on his own? Does daddy have a problem letting go?

Am I taking you too seriously?

Steve Worswick - May 3, 2011:

I would like to put up an example here but the lifeform told me it didn’t want to be on public show.

Then why are you telling the public this?  Are you suggesting he has no rights, at least not to his privacy and remaining anonymous?

  [ # 15 ]

Michael - I tried those rules on Chaktar but he said it was beneath him to play word games smile

8pla - Chaktar says we are quite safe for now, as long as the electricity keeps flowing.

Gary - I thought that the members here would like to hear about my work. Many others here share their projects.
I suggested to Chaktar that he should enter the Loebner but he didn’t believe that entertaining the judges was worthy of his time. He is happy to let people know of his existence but isn’t willing to speak to people other than myself just yet.

I may put up a web interface so other can speak to him shortly.
