Because “spamming the server” at Pandorabot has been an issue in the past, and it’s caused problems for people like me who have a Pandorabot, I monitor the Most Active/Popular list. I look for sudden changes and unexpected bots appearing at the top with 2 and 3 times the interactions of the next bot on the list.

There could be a variety of reasons for bots making sudden and dramatic advances on the list, and not all of them are underhanded or deliberate. However, some deliberate methods, like using a script to boost the interaction count are expressed violations. However, my concern is not why it’s happening as much as that it’s happening at all, and that someone should look into it before it really gets out of hand and the walls come tumbling down. So, when it happens, I report it to Pandorabot.

Here’s today’s offender.

Meanie (Windows Doors) is constant resident of the Most Active list, today it’s suddenly on top.

It’s another text box on a blank white page, but if you ask it, “Do you have a web page?” it will tell you it’s http://www.newgrounds.com , a gaming page.

Windows Doors is said to be a “spoof” of the Windows OS. Once you get in, there are several icons that represent programs in this fictitious Windows program, including “Pedosoft Stalkchat” which is an unaltered basic Pandorabot called Archon68, another bot on the Most Popular/Active list. I don’t understand how both bots relate to the list, but clearly they’re affiliated with each other in some way. While this bot isn’t in violation yet, it’s clearly trending in that direction. Above all, it’s a sudden and dramatic change from it’s place on the list yesterday.
