Will the contest computers run local WIMP (Windows, IIS, MySQL, PHP, Perl/CGI) servers so that all contestants have access to save files using server-side languages?

Internet Information Services (IIS) webserver may run as http://localhost on a private network (with no Internet connection), and comes with Windows. However, it is not enabled by default. As for MySQL, PHP and Perl/CGI, they may all be installed at no cost.

Yes, after the final 4 are announced, you can edit your entry right up to the start of the contest.

How long will my entry compete in the contest?
This year from 24th July to 16th September (if chosen for the finals)

How many contest finalists are selected?

Who are the judges for the contests?
These are not officially announced, so you can’t research them and add info about them to your bot. Unofficially, many of them can’t resist posting on social media that they are going to be judges!

May I read the ballots from the judges?
Ballots? The transcripts for each bot will be posted online but it’s up to the entrants to keep their own logs if they wish.

What happens if my entry crashes?
The organisers try to restart it. This may involve trying to contact you.

Why was my entry rejected from the contest?
Entries that do not conform to the LPP, that cannot be installed or are found to contain viruses, malware or other harmful software will be excluded from the competition.

Why wasn’t my entry chosen as a finalist?
It didn’t score high enough in the qualifying round.

If your entry needs any component that doesn’t come standard with Windows, you should provide it along with your entry, and set it up to automatically install.
If an already installed component is not enabled by default and you can not automate its activation, you could add that to your installation instructions, but you should not expect the testers to be familiar with any of the systems you mentioned.

Entries submitted as software should be submitted as a self-contained installation program and should be accompanied by instructions for installation.
