Unofficial: Loebner Prize 2011 and 2012 in the UK

Read on Robitron:
An official communication should be announced in the near future. It
seems fairly certain that Loebner Prize 2011 will be held at the
University of Exeter in the UK. The date has not yet been decided.

It also seems fairly certain that the Loebner Prize will be held at
Bletchley Park, UK in 2012.

Bletchley Park
How ominous is this?
That is where the German Enigma code breaking efforts were performed durring WW2.
This is MI6 teritory, so I’m wondering why the connection to AI has to be so blatantly associated with secret agents and
espionage. Is it perhaps because as soon as the first quantum computer comes out there will need to be a parallel effort to crack quantum encryption using the proponents of the technological singularity? (using Riemanian based virtual agents)

OK Erwin
I recognize that smile….It means “I can’t talk about this”.

BTW:  I just got a pacemaker installed a few days ago. I’m recouping from the operation so I hijacked the hospital room phone line using the internal 56k dial up modem in my laptop. The surprize is that I’m getting DSL like speed and quality how surprizing!!!

Simply thought it was funny grin I actually don’t know more or less than what I noted above. Hugh Loebner wrote this piece and I simply copied and paste it.

Pacemaker: wow, and you’re still so active? Isn’t that a big operation?

Are you sure the intensive care is still working properly? Didn’t you simply hijacked all the 56K lines by incidence? wink

How active can you be lying in a hospital bed punching keypad keys?
The Pacemaker operation was done without using general anesthetics. It’s a single day procedure now. In a few days there will be more work on my arteries, (angiogram) then this fall there will be a major operation (open heart surgery) I’m getting two brand new metal heart valves installed. I swear I’m slowly turning into a “BORG”

... Where the Father of Artificial Intelligence performed Enigma code breaking.

Get well soon, Raymond.  Only a licensed physician can make a diagnosis, however “EKG intrepretation” is the A.I. of the electrocardiograms. You may find it interesting to know that A.I. uses:  Analog to Digital Conversion (ADC), Digital Signal Processing (DSP), to enable the A.I. to interpret your EKG signals and suggest a diagnosis to your physician.  The physician is a human expert, who cross references with other expertise including tests, patient history, questionaires and so forth.

In medicine, it is said among physicians, that there are only a few aging experts in the world who can tell the difference between human interpretation and machine interpretation of EKGs.  If there is an equivalent of a Turing Test in medical devices, then clearly the EKG devices have passed that test.

How about if we combined a P300 brain wave detector and added it to the algorithm to help interface it to a distinctive character?

While I’m at it, - let me tell everyone that; Ever since November 11th of 2011 at 11 minutes past 11:00 in my time zone, my health just started to get better all of a sudden, after 14 years of dialysis treatments I have been unable to urinate, and all of a sudden I’ve started to urinate a bit… It is very strange. My titanium heart valves (which I can literaly hear) seem to gently lull me to sleep when I rest on the pillow.  Life is so wonderfull and I love being here right here right now.
Has everyone seen this: http://www.thrivemovement.com It’s a raging Meme !
