It is important for this to be noted, as one of the finalists that the world will be watching responded, “Have you recently been to a zoo?” to the question “How much is 3 + 2?”. Any layman watching this and believing that this is the state of the art will think we have moved backwards since ELIZA some 50 years ago. Not a very good way to celebrate Alan Turing’s centenary.
