I’m sorry, Steve. Had I known that you also had a dark side, I would have let the matter of your true identity stand. However, I find that I’m “too nice for my own good”, and thus, give things away like samples at a bake sale. Oops?

This file makes so much more sense now. The most confusing part was the <eval> tags, which I didn’t understand, but now I do. This was very helpful towards my project, and now I can actually write my own file for this (just to say that I actually wrote my code).

You explained this perfectly for me Steve, and it is greatly appreaciated. As far as I know I have no more questions, as you guys did a great job explaining everything.

And I think I should be thanking Dave again, this time for letting the cat out of the bag, lol. This is, without a doubt, the most helpful forum I have ever been on. I definitely plan on visiting often, whether for help or to help. Thank you guys very much!

Always happy to help a fellow AIML user. I meant to add that if you republish your bot or Pandorabots restart their servers, any of the things it has learned through learn.aiml are lost. I can see no way round this unfortunately.

Oh, well that’s pretty lame. But it shouldn’t pose too much of an issue. It’s more the fact that it has the ability to learn more than anything. But thank you for letting me know, so I won’t later be pulling my hair out as to why it doesn’t remember things xD

To be honest, while I do get a few people who use it genuinely, a lot of the conversations are like this:

Human: Learn Tony Jones is gay
Mitsuku: Ok, I will add that to my database.
Human: Who is gay
Mitsuku: Tony Jones
Human: Har! Har!

Oh one more thing. Any categories created by learn.aiml are not global and will only work for the user that created them which is probably just as well with the conversation above!

Of course, that doesn’t pose too much of a problem, if Pandorabots has a way for the botmaster to view the “learned” categories. Anything Morti learns is stored in his database, so it’s easy for me to review, which is a help.

Mitsuku sends me an email via Flash if anybody uses the learn feature. I can then review and decide whether to make them permanent categories or not.
