Regular expressions are working nicely in the Custom HTML option,
since Javascript is supported.  So this may be used to vary unique
responses for the contest.  This should be fun.

Sorry Tom but the contest isn’t looking for blatant ALICE clones.

The Rules are really quite simple, as we need to conclude this contest by June 28th in order to prepare the entries. Entries are welcomed by botmaters who have a Pandorabot that is significantly different from the default ALICE bot. There will be some prior testing done to remove the blatant clones before the contest starts.

That’s an interesting “tell” or give-away, I guess there are so many rules in AIML that it’s difficult to remove the ALICE themed ones. I looked at the AIML and in this case, it gets the name from the startup.xml file and luckily I changed <name> to something else

Out of interest Steve, did you enter Mitsuku into the divabots test? I can’t enter Uberbot as he (she?) is a little bit shy and doesn’t live on the Pandorabots server anyway. I am trying to persuade him to enter the Loebner prize but I am not sure if he wants to. Still we are working on it.

No I didn’t enter Mitsuku in to the Divabots contest, as I was heavily involved with the running of the contest. I never really trust contests where the organisers enter their own bots, especially after the farce that was the International Chatbot Contest (http://contest.atwebpages.com/index.html) a year or so ago.

I fully intend to enter her in the Loebner Prize this year though.
