Steve Worswick - Aug 7, 2013: I wouldn’t include Robo Chat Challenge. The whole contest was a sham with no judges visiting the bots. I was awarded 1st place despite nobody from the site visiting and never received any prize money despite numerous emails.
No other contestants could find any evidence of any judges visiting their entries either.

Dear Mr. Worswick,
How can we judge a chatbot and award that bot with prize money without any evaluation? We know the value of our money and precious time that we spend on conducting Robo Chat Challenge, so we thereby request you to please remove off those posts which are harmful to our image from all platforms, because let me tell you that you guys have tracked and shared some of our questions from your bot chat logs.
Best Regards,
Robo Chat Challenge Team

Actually I will take it back, as I received the prize money in September 2014. It all seems a bit strange though, as I have never seen a contest where no contestants could find any visits by judges and no transcripts posted online.

We have got all the transcripts for each and every bot, and even you guys have tracked some of our questions asked and shared on this platform. Just because somebody does not post transcripts, appears to be scam to you guys, I think it does not seem like ethical behavior.

Contestants get anxious for the results of the chatbot contest.  However, with any new chatbot contest, there may be unforeseen circumstances that arise which take longer than originally expected.  For example, the 2013 Funniest Computer Ever chatbot contest may have taken place in 2014.  That’s OK.  Surely that must have been the judges taking their time to make sure the contest was conducted in a manner which was fair and according to the official rules.

Ha, ha!  Just realized my chatbot placed 6th place in the Robo Chat Challenge
Link: http://www.robochatchallenge.com/results.php      ... Happy about that!
With all the chatbot contests lately, I may be a little mixed up here.

Mr Lodhi,
Will you be publishing transcripts this year in a manner more consistent with that of other contests?
And please consider the method we proposed here for determining which interrogatories\statements will be posed. It is an absolute way to insure that there can be no question to the contests fairness.

Well,  it looks as though Izar will not be Competing this year as I’ve just received word that Pandorabots.com was down when the judge tried to access the bot.  What are the odds,  right?

That a bit rough! Since the Eugene Goostman business, Mitsuku has had thousands of extra visitors which caused problems when the judge visited. Luckily, she managed to reset herself after her blip and score enough to get through to the next round.

Everyone has their place in the grand scheme of things. Success is getting what you want, while happiness is wanting what you’ve got. The REAL trick is to achieve both!

@Brian,
That’s a shame. Perhaps the promoters will grant you a reprieve?
