Wow! That must take ages to set up. It seems to get bigger each year.

It does seem that way, doesn’t it? It hasn’t grown in area this year, but we’ve put in new LED lights that look more authentic to the time period, and of course there are a few more buildings. There are ALWAYS more buildings.

Looks really good. Do you let your neighbors come in and take a look? You have more patience than me!

It’s open for anyone to come and view it (provided it’s n’t at 3AM), and we used to have an advertized open house, so that the entire community could come look. We don’t do the open house anymore because people stopped coming around to see it.

If I were to build something like that, I would have a hard time breaking it up again. I would probably leave it as it is.

Thanks, Mates! I appreciate the kind words. While the process of putting the village together always involves a certain degree of stress, the results are always worth it. Future plans for the village include adding a second functioning waterfall and adding “flicker controllers” to the lighting, to give some of the buildings the appearance of light from a candle, or fireplace. Both were actually slated for this year, but circumstances prevented their completion.
