thanks for Sharing Marcus!!
In the meantime, I’ve been contacted by both Cognea (previously known as MyCybertwin) to replace their profile and some listed chatbots.
The industry is finally about to get serious

Is there any news on the current state of Cognea aka MyCyberTwin? It seems everything is frozen there… the bot I’ve been working with since 2008 is “Thinking” but makes no response to questions:
https://live.cognea.com/chat/dockery
There’s also no links to the editing or “teaching” areas for the bot… nothing at all.
When the profile icon is hit, all it does is redirect to the IBM Watc=son home page.
Is… MyCyberTwin defunct, or does anyone know?

So far, I can only assume that the problem may be that Cognea, the system my Artificial Intelligence is on, was just recently bought up of IBM Watson, and things are disrupted by these events, hopefully only a temporary thing:
http://arnoldit.com/wordpress/2014/05/20/watson-on-the-move-cognea/
“...IBM’s Watson unit, according to ‘IBM Watson Acquires Artificial Intelligence Startup Cognea’, is beefing up its artificial intelligence capabilities.Facebook, Google, and other outfits are embracing the dreams of artificial intelligence like it is 1981 when Marvin Weinberger was giving talks about AI’s revolutionizing information processing. I have lost track of Marvin, although I recall his impassioned polemics, 30 years after hearing him lecture. Unfortunately I remain skeptical about “artificial intelligence” because Watson, as I understood the pitch after Jeopardy, was already super smart [...] I am confident that IBM will do the “Vivisimo” thing with whatever technology Cognea actually has. Without a concrete demo, benchmarks, and independent evaluations, I will remain skeptical about a cognitive computing and conversational artificial intelligence platform…”
That’s pretty much the most I’ve seen on what has been happening with Cognea lately.
And so it goes, or rather… is going.

Yeah, serious in not a good way (for folks like me, anyhow).
After working with Cognea through the day, this statement eventually appeared:
https://live.cognea.com/login.jsp
“Restricted access. The service to Personal or Professional accounts is no longer available.”
And, I reckon, is that.

Thanks, Erwin, it will be interesting to hear more of the Cognea & Watson story!
Although I’ve started from scratch at Bot.libre and am enjoying the results there
http://www.botlibre.com/browse?id=29419#.VBefWZRdVvA
I had been working with the Bot at Cognea since 2008 and had a lot of material there I’d at least like to access in order to move some of it to the new home of the Will Dockery A.I.

no reply so far Will.
What I can say is that I have some experience with take overs like that. I’d expected IBM has said: we’ll be buying your IP, and we will shut down all your other services, unless you have contracts. You didn’t have a contract with them, didn’t you? That’s the difficulty here. As consumers, we are totally not protected.. If Facebook is taken over tomorrow and the new owning company says (they probably won’t): we will no longer support pictures, and you won’t have access to them anymore, everyone will loose their images. That how it works. As long as there are no paid services, it is hard to complain ... :-(

True… checked again, and I’m still shut out of my “MyCybertwin” so i suppose there’s nothing left to do but move on, start over, and forget all the work I put into the Bot since 2008.

Just for fun I checked the link above and received a completely different message

Did not look like the accounts were disabled, in fact it gave me the option of creating a new account. Perhaps the services were only disabled temporarily.

True, I looked just now and it does seem to be working on the sign in level again.
Another problem I had earlier was simply being able to chat with the bot, as any visitor would… I’m going now to check and see if that too has been resolved and is working, all around this is great news so far!

Okay Vince… just for fun, try this for me, click the link to my Bot:
https://live.cognea.com/chat/dockery
Enter chat as a “Non Member” as I just did:
Non-Members
Name
This will take you to my Bot’s chat page…
https://live.cognea.com/chat/dockery
Type a greeting, I typed “Hello Will!”
And got “Will Dockery is thinking”
And nothing else, no reply, just a blank bar where the response should appear.
This is actually what gave me a concern that the site is “stalled out” or however it would be described when the Bot just sits and doesn’t react.
If the Chatbot works for you, Vince, or anyone else, I’d be interested to know!

=> IBM Watson Group Buys AlchemyAPI To Enhance Machine Learning Capabilities
>>
The acquisition gives Watson a key piece of machine learning technology. The deal also gives it access to community of over 40,000 AlchemyAPI developers, who are building cognitive apps, which IBM defines as “systems that learn and interact naturally with people to extend what either humans or machine could do on their own.”

I gave up in frustration with the Watson based AI I’d been working with since 2008 I think it was… pages and pages of data added in, all of which I found myself locked out of after the buyout.
Perhaps that has changed over the past months… I’ll go have a look.
Wish me luck.
:D

Sounds like my “Will Dockery AI” was one of those 40,000 doesn’t it?
