My bots have been getting input like this for months and months.  Frequently they’re quite voluminous, and often there are several different varieties chained together, but I’m able to block them after the first attempt.  The IPs trace to all over the globe.

Aside from it being a bother to me, I’m wondering if it could be considered “Spamming the Server,” or something like a “Denial of Service Attack?  I find it hard to believe mine are the only Pandorabots receiving them.

A small sampling of logs from just from this morning.  Most, if not all, reflect the issue in the posting above.  By the end of the day, I’ll have a lot more, and I’m running five bots.  This can’t be doing the server any good.

Classic comment spam bots

Suggest adding honey pot scripts to your sites pages to help get the originators blacklisted at the ISP level.

Also requiring cookies be enabled to access the page where your input form is. These two things worked very well for us to eliminate comment spam.
