Can a variable number of chatters simultaneously chat to the same bot?

Maybe yes, but I could certainly enable it if not. There would be a shared topic file with no designated user attached, just the bot. You have to decide what it means to chat simultaneously with the same bot. One user asks a question and the bot answers. Another user, probably not even having seen the answer yet and maybe not even the initial input says something completely unrelated. You’d have to program the bot to deal with this kind of conversation.

Last night (4/8/19) I live streamed ChatScript on Twitch.
Without “a shared topic file”, I cloned a “designated user”.
Attached, the clone performed a few chat exchanges. The process
was repeated with another CDU (Cloned Designated User),
and then another and another and so on.

Does this mark the first time ChatScript was live streamed?

Post # 3 (above) was in response to your request, “You have to decide what it means to chat simultaneously with the same bot.” Further analysis breaks down into three preliminary tests.

The first preliminary test “One user asks a question and the bot answers.” was reversed by the cloned users. The bot asked a question and the clone users answered but using statements, not questions.

The second preliminary test “Another user, probably not even having seen the answer yet and maybe not even the initial input says something completely unrelated.” was performed blind by the cloned users, but with completely related (identical) responses. Only the cloned username was unique.

To establish a performance baseline, the third preliminary test, “You’d have to program the bot to deal with this kind of conversation.” was delayed, Bruce, until you enable the shared topic file with no designated user attached.  Early testing is using ChatScript out of the box.

In the meantime, for the next preliminary test, the cloned users may evolve to vary their responses and to ask questions. Since, the Live Stream test proved stable, video for the next preliminary test may instead be recorded and uploaded to video-sharing website.

Bruce, thank you very much for your excellent support and inspiration. Lastly, to all readers, this ChatScript on Twitch project may be exciting and off to a great start, but it is still very early stages of testing.
