This is most definitely a newbie question but I am having trouble understanding it.

What is the difference between:
topic: ~INTRODUCTIONS (~emogoodbye ~emohello ~emohowzit name here )

AND

topic: ~INTRODUCTIONS [~emogoodbye ~emohello ~emohowzit name here ]

I ask because the user manual refers to definitions with square brackets but Harry is defined with the parentheses. I’ve tried both, can see no difference but wonder if I’m missing something….

This should be posted in the chatscript forum. However, the answer is no difference. () was the original notation. [] is also accepted, to be compatible with its use in patterns.
