Not sure why they have banned Cyber Ty. It’s a pretty decent bot.

Replying back on this forum and keeping my fingers crossed, because our account don’t seem to work with login credentials.

Cyber Ty was banned from Robo Chat Challenge 2014, because that bot was chatting in an abusive manner.

Not sure where this contest is as far as judging, but unfortunately we had a power outage here today went beyond the backups ability to handle and shutdown all the servers. I do not know yet how it affected SAIL as we get things back up. I’ll post as we test things.

I swear there is a contest curse.

Dear Robo Chat Challenge officials,

ALERT: Elizabot System Maintenance

Although, there has been no downtime yet.  Please be alerted, that Elizabot is scheduled for system maintenance.  Naturally, efforts are being made to avoid or minimize any downtime during the Robo Chat Challenge contest.

Robo Chat Challenge judges who may happen to visit Elizabot in the midst of this system maintenance (if the contest rules permit) should simply try Elizabot again later.

However, this is just an alert. Presently all system maintenance procedures are ahead of schedule and going very well.  Status update notices will be posted here.

Sounds like the “unsafe window” for your bot, 8pla, is only about 24 hours or so. Let’s hope that window was missed.

There has been no downtime yet with either the original or clone of Elizabot.
It won’t matter if the original goes offline, since now the clone is the primary.

Elizabot was successfully cloned, before the “unsafe window” could be missed by the original.  So, for the time being, Elizabot has an identical twin sister.

Who schedules this ‘maintenance’, The Imp of the Perverse?

It was a significant cost savings, together with a performance boost, which prompted the system maintenance. There was an economy server up for full price renewal… Just as a deeply discounted, premium server went on sale as a promotion by a competitor.

Based on that criteria, I think that it was a sound move. Cheers on the new setup!

UPDATE:  Elizabot.com is coming back soon.

Just transferred the Elizabot.com domain name to the Elizabot.net registrar. All changes have been submitted!  Now, they have to propagate across the Internet to take effect.  However, that does not mean anyone has to wait.  In the meantime, anyone may visit Elizabot at her second domain name:  Elizabot.net
