All comments that follow are meant
to be of assistance, not disapproving
judgments. As a guest of this forum,
I am certainly not trying to act like
an admininstrator.
A workaround I sometimes use is
copy and paste from notepad in
Windows or gedit in Linux.
I’ll go into more discussion about that,
if requested, such as how to use
bbcode manually.
A similar trick I use is I select all the
text and copy it to memory, so that
if something freezes I have it saved
in memory to paste it when the forum
returns. If the forum crashes, then I
paste it into notepad or gedit and save
it to a file. This way nothing is lost.
It’s easy to delete files later.
I suspect in a polite manner, which I do not
wish confirmed, that it may be a virtual machine
underperforming somewhere which is causing
the performance issues. The webhost may be
able to help with that, not just the forum module
authors.
Mentioned as a solution suggestion:
Forums that run on ASP, PHP or Perl, for example:
Virtual Humans Forum rarely have
performance issues, it seems.
With that said, I support that addressing
performance issues of this forum module may
be the only viable option. Chatbots.org is very
popular and highly valued. So the authors of
this forum module and the webhost tech support
may want to make it a priority to promote earning
more customers.
I hope this analysis, which is on topic, strictly
for discussion purposes, may be helpful to someone.
