Forum Profile minor glitch

There appears to be a minor glitch in the Forum Profile:

After the Robitron logo image the word “Discussion”

appears on the same line as the image, and extends out over the forum column

while the word “about” is appearing correctly

on the next line below the image.

Suggestion:

After the Robitron logo image try inserting a:

<br

or some other kind of line break such as <hr>.

Another solution may be to add CSS for word wrapping.

Hi 8PLA, could you post a screen-shot, because in both Firefox and Chrome I do not experience this problem. (Unfotunataly my IE 8.0 is broken beyond repair :( )

I’ve tested IE 8.0 and Safari: can’t reproduce it. I’ve also changed my screen resolution to 1280 x 768. Still no problems.

To further test it, I also added the Windows Vista sidebar. Still not able to reproduce it.

@8-pla: could you send OS and browser details?

Thanks again

Top! (or actually not-top_. You can also try to send an attachment via an advanced-reply.

We’ll sort this out…

This minor glitch does not occur in Firefox 3.5.6.
In IE 7 it is a very minor cosmetic issue.

Erwin, I did originally send an attachment, and it
created a nice thumbnail, but it scaled the image
in the popup which caused pixelation, so that
the text in the image could not be read.

The popup itself, aside from the scaling, is nicely coded.
And scaling itself is not an error report, it may be built-in
to the webbrowser and have a disadvantage for displaying
text in images.

Note: These comments are
based on very little testing.

I see a forward slash after robitron200.gif/ on the img src tag.
Since the image filename is not a directory name, that may be it ?

You could throw in a break tag just to hardcode a break, instead of relying on text wrapping to do an auto break after the image tag.  I think the appearance will be unchanged, and there will not be a wasted blank line after the logo.  But I did not test my hypothesis.

By the way, from my experience… Little glitches ALWAYS happen when starting a new forum.  This is an excellent job on this forum.

Hi 8PLA,

I’ve tried fixing the problem as you suggested. Unfortunataly because of a non-working IE7 on my computer, I can’t check that it indeed solved the issue. Could you confirm?

Thanks in advance

This is now fixed in IE7. See the screenshot here

Thx Arhur for confirming this!
