The first comment in this thread by 8-man:

is widening the center column, which it shouldn’t.

then don’t use [ code ] but [ quote ]

somehow the forum replaces all spaced inside a [ code ] block with   (the char entity for space, non-breaking-space), anyway, this ruins the layout unfortunataly, not much to do about it.

Actually, I’d love to have a solution for this. :-s. I just don’t want users to ruin the layout, in any case.
