SEO strategy, Google ranking

Hello Erwin,

You seem to have a good SEO strategy, on your key words your site has a good Google ranking.
Could you shine some light on your strategy, please? How did you do that?

Thanks!

We use a million mechanisms to improve our rankings. The higher positions your sites reaches, the more subtle the changes you need to make, the more complicated they will be, the more effort and money you’ll need to spend. To reach #1 worldwide is not the most easiest task to complete grin.

In general a SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategy comprises of two elements:
<ol><li>Site optimization: This is about the structure and content of your website. Make sure you use the appropriate terminology, good URL’s, effective internal link strategy</li>
<li>Outbound links: make sure other website link to you, preferrably websites with high reputations (in Google). Preferrably, you would want to have a link from the general home page from Google. That’s the best link you can get (and nobody has wink ).</li></ol>

Here are a few Site Optimization tips for the beginner:

<ol><li>Identify the terms used your target audience. Make sure your list is complete. We usually talk about chatbot, but there are many out their who prefer the term chat bot or chatterbot, or even totally different terms like virtual agent, conversational agent or virtual assistant. We’ve found about 60 different synonyms. We can’t change the world, we have to deal with it.Hopefully your industry is more consistent. What is vital in this area: it’s not about your terminology, it’s really about the terminilogy of your potential customers.</li>
<li>Create individual pages for those terms. Make sure these terms are also mentioned in the URL of these pages. A few high informative pages on 3D, with good titles, good URL’s would probably do.</li>
<li>Create links to those pages from various pages in your website. The earlier you insert a link in your content, i.e. the higher on a page, the better. Your most important pages should be linked from your homepage. Although the quantiy of links is important, it’s not the holy grail however. If we would create a single page with 100 links to our chatbot detail page, Google wouldn’t take this page seriously. Google tries to read a page like a human would do. And a page full of links to the same page, that doesn’t make sense.</li></ol>

Many beginners focus on keywords and description. That tip is really old school. These are less important, you need to work on them when you optimizing your site worldwide, but it’s more important that you have good page titles and good page URL’s.

p.s. just discovered thah the ol/ul/li doesn’t work. We’ll repair this soon.

Thanks Erwin,

Those are great tips.

Some questions:

Your emphasis on the page title: does the title do more because it is at the top of a page, or because it has extra ‘google value’ since it is defined as a title, somewhere?

And what do you think of Google Ads? Does it add value to sites?

Cheers!

Both. The Title should always start with the most relevant keywords: 3D television solutions, 3D monitoring, 3D viewers | MillionDreams”. So first the keywords, then the company name. Also on the homepage.
Furthermore, the <title> meta tag should be on top in the source code of your page. You can put it a few lines lower, but it’s better to have it on top.

On your site, serving Google Ads (through AdSense) won’t be relevant at all. You’ll put a lot of effort in bringing people (through SEO) to your site, and Google Ads will drive them away.

Buying Google Ads (through AdWords)  might be relevant for you if you can’t obtain the number one pages. However, it’s quite expensive and stops after you’ve stopped you’re campaign. An SEO strategy is long lasting, but you’ll have to make sure you’re market leader in your area and you have interesting content on your website, more relevant content than your competition has.
